The Choir association Westerwald (CV West) is the regionally important network for choral music in the Westerwald. With round 90 choirs We actively shape the choral landscape of the region from children's, youth, women's, men's and mixed ensembles.

Our mission

  • Promotion of choral music in all its facets – from classical literature to church and folk songs to pop and modern arrangements.
  • Education and training: We conduct workshops, choir workshops and conducting courses (e.g. the Level 2 Choral Conductor Seminar in Westerwald).
  • Connecting events, Bringing choirs together, inspiring audiences and promoting music-making as a community experience.

Our structure

Following a recent reform of the statutes, the leadership of the ‘Association management’ taken over – consisting of the management of the association, the financial administration, the management, and the musical management. The managing association management is supported by the areas of children's ‑ and youth promotion and training, training, association and event management, press and public relations work, non-functional participation in the board and the representation of the choir groups North, Central and South.

Founded in 1922, the CV Westerwald can look back on more than 100 years of history, continuous cultural commitment, the tireless commitment of countless volunteers and a strong and successful coexistence of the choirs.

Why is there a choir?

  • We offer Diversity & Community – from classical choral songs to modern genres.
  • We promote Up-and-coming work, Young and newcomers will find their place with us.
  • We design Vibrant cultural events, which invigorate the region and inspire people.

With heart and passion we sing the Westerwald: Be there in the Westerwald choirs!

U n s e r e L e i s t u n g e n u m f a s e n:

* Contact person for politics and cooperations
The Chorverband is the political contact point for choral music and, via the Landesmusikrat, also adviser and partner of the state government. He represents the interests of the community of choirs at county and state level, up to federal ministries. We are looking for partnership and cooperation with other associations, such as the Kreismusikverband, the Sportbund and also with the Kreismusikschulen.

* Advice and support
Whether association issues, funding measures, organisational issues, choral music issues, etc. - we advise and support you in your projects and measures. We make our knowledge and experience available so that you can work successfully with and in your choir in the long term.

* Continuing education and workshops
We offer further training for choral conductorsInside, singerinside and on boards. This includes topics such as vote formation, club management, modern rehearsal work and much more.
The young generation is particularly important to us. With projects and initiatives to promote children's and youth choirs, with choral projects such as the Westerwald Spatzen, the choir classes and the training and further education of music teachers, we are committed to imparting and promoting the friends of active singing from an early age. With regular children's and youth choir concerts, we present our children's and youth choirs and actively promote this important area. Promote newcomer seminars
and facilitate the entry into choral singing; Choir start-ups are supported and encouraged.

* Networks and community
We offer platforms for the exchange with other choirs and club managers. We promote choral activities in the clubs, organize our own choral events such as consulting and feedback singing, regularly hold the open-air choral events ChorAktiv and Westerwälder Chorfest, where the choirs of the Westerwald can present themselves to a wide audience and make the best self-promotion.

* Public relations and promotion
We help you to make your choir visible, support you in public relations, actively conduct public relations work, promote the events of our choirs, seek to establish networking with the most diverse partners and offer a wide variety of funding opportunities.
