Honours in the choir association Westerwald

Definition in the choir association Westerwald for the future approach:
Carrying out honors of well-deserved singers for many years of active singing and board work

1. In the area of responsibility of the choir association Westerwald, the honors of deserving singers are generally carried out within the framework of joint honors at group level. These joint honours are organised by the choir groups on their own responsibility and carried out in a dignified framework.

2. The speaker of the choir association Westerwald / members of the executive board and the group executives will hold a joint award once a year in each choir group. These honors are carried out in a dignified setting by the speaker of the choir association / members of the executive board in cooperation with the group board.
Exception:   In the case of a real association anniversary (founding anniversary 25; 50; 75; 100, etc.) the honors of the deserving singers of the Jubilee Association can be carried out as individual honors within the framework of the festive event.

3. If a singer/singer or an association refuses the procedure of joint honour listed under point 1, the honour documents (certificate, needle or brooch) will be sent to the association concerned by the district board with a corresponding letter. There is no separate honorary action.

4. If, for reasons of illness or other valid reasons of impediment, it is not possible for the honorary person to participate in the joint honour, the singer will be named in the joint honour.
The handover of the certificate of honour/needle/brooch will then be clarified individually by the respective group board (possibly individual instruction by the group board or a person designated by it) or carried out as part of the next joint award.

5. Deviations from the above procedure of a joint award at group level are to be requested by the group board to the board of directors of the choir band Westerwald, which advises on them and brings about a decision.

Mario Siry can be proud of his decades of work in the Westerwälder Chorwesen. Since 1994 he has headed the MGV Hoffnung Heiligenroth, since 1995 the MGV Eintracht Leuterod and Liederkranz Berrod b. W and since the following years a whole series of other choirs from the region. He has been conducting the Rhineland-Palatinate Sunday Choir since 2013.

He has been a district choirmaster since 2005, and since that time he has also worked as a seminar director and more for the choir association at county and state level. In 2011 he founded the Chorjugend in the Chorverband Rheinland-Pfalz and has been its chairman ever since.

District Administrator Schwickert stated in his phonetic date: ‘You moved people!’ and highlighted his broad commitment to choral singing. Siry currently leads eleven choirs, and has been committed to supervising and developing the choirs for many years since he began conducting the choirs in 1994. This professional support is a challenging task. Schwickert compared the activity of the choirmaster with the sporting task of an exercise director. ‘You have to deal with the individual characters, and that can cost nerves here and there – not an easy task!’ Many rehearsals are necessary for success, and the simple coordination of appointments is not easy. Siry has this success, although the environment for the choirs has changed a bit in the past years and decades. In enumerating the various memberships and offices, Schwickert also highlighted the patience of Siry's wife. Because family life is not insignificantly time-limited by the many honorary positions.

Rhineland-Palatinate Honorary Needle - Raimund Schäfer

The choir association Westerwald congratulates its treasurer and press officer Raimund Schäfer on the award with the honorary needle of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, issued by Prime Minister Malu Dreyer.

In appreciation and gratitude of his extensive work in the choir association Westerwald and the state bodies, the board has used itself for the application.
Raimund Schäfer has accompanied the office of treasurer in the choir association Unterwesterwald since 1989 and since the merger of the Westerwald district associations in 2015 to form the choir association Westerwald.
Raimund was already acting press officer from 1993-94, in addition to his board position as treasurer of our choir association and has held the office since 2004 until today. He has created our homepage and maintains it very intensively, in addition, he regularly creates our newsletters and has created all the flyers of our choir association.
In recognition of his merits in the work of the board of directors of the choir association Unterwesterwald, he was awarded the honorary needle of the choir association Rhineland-Palatinate in 2002.
In addition, he has been on the Board of Directors of Region 1 as a cashier since 2012 and its Chairman since 2015. In the overall presidium of the choir association Rhineland-Palatinate, he played a major role in the development of the new statutes and developed a guiding principle for the association.
Raimund Schäfer not only does a great deal of management and public relations work, but is also our creative source of ideas.
In addition, Raimund Schäfer has participated in the municipal council and the committees of the local community and organizes the Christmas market.
Also in sport, after his active activity in his football club TuS Ahrbach, he acts similarly intensively as managing director, trains young people, also looks after the homepage there, ‘is’ the editorial staff of the club newspaper and organiser and tournament leader of the annual Ahrbach Cup.

If you have been able to participate in such a joyful way for a lifetime and participate in countless performances and even in old age have the grace to still be able to ‘have a voice’ and sing, then you cannot thank your Creator enough and only hope that he will give you a few more years of this happiness!
